Parris Stubbings: Director of Archaeology

I have built a wide depth of both knowledge and enjoyment of archaeology over a decade of working in the field and hold a BA in Archaeology from Durham University. My work has been in commercial archaeology, primarily focused on fieldwork, but I have increasingly been involved in all aspects, including management, pre- and post-excavation work, final reports, and archiving. Initially, I worked within the East Midlands before moving to the South West, and I have worked across much of England. During the COVID-19 pandemic, following the closure of the Exeter office I was employed at, I embarked on opening a new commercial unit. This company focused mainly on clientele across the South West, providing services from basic consultancy to larger scaled field excavations. This experience has only widened my knowledge and experience, which I hope to now utilise for Prometheus Solutions.

I’m a linguist by both inclination and training – I hold an MA in Literary Linguistics from the University of Nottingham, and I love studying and learning languages, as well as writing in my own time. I also spent several years working as a TESOL teacher, which means that I am familiar with the types of errors students of English make. As a member of CIEP, I uphold CIEP standards and follow their editorial guidelines, offering my clients a fast and professional service that always follows our quality control procedure, and is triple checked by at least two people.
